In an ongoing effort to avoid becoming couch potatoes, we have started an 11AM exercise class at the lodge on Mondays and Fridays at 11AM. We are using Vitality 4 Life DVDs with Curtis Adams, a senior specialist, as our trainer. There are two 20-minute sessions and a 3-minute balance sequence so you can complete the program and still be home in time for lunch. There is no fee an ALL Avenbury residents are welcome.  Make living a healthier life your goal!

Walking (Outside) Group
The Outdoor Walking Club meets at 7:30 AM every Tuesday and Thursday. Both men and women are welcomed.  The Walking Group meets in front of the Lodge and walks about 30-45 minutes. If you can’t walk that long, that is OK. The Group consists of fast, medium and slow walkers. We usually walk along the Avenbury streets and Wetlands.  The group continues to walk during the winter—weather permitting. The group does not walk when the weather is icy or otherwise unfavorable.

Walking (Inside) Group
Come and join us on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM in the warm Lodge Activity Room to exercise to a DVD called Walk Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone. The walk includes a warm-up walk, kicking, knee lifts, side steps, and a cool-down. It is easy on the joints but certainly gets the heart rate up. The tapes are 3 miles but you can walk 1 mile, 2 miles or all 3. Each mile takes about 10-15 minutes depending on the intensity!  Bring water and join us for a fun workout.
