AVENBURY LAKES VOLUNTEERS – THE HEART OF IT ALL
Avenbury Lakes is an “Active Adult Community” and provides numerous opportunities to remain active by volunteering. The most popular ways for residents to volunteer are to help out on one of the monthly social events organized by the Social Committee or participate in one or more of the many Clubs & Groups that offer weekly activities.
Volunteer efforts help keep Avenbury’s Operating costs down; Lodge Monitors allow the Lodge to stay open after hours for greater access; Outdoor Pool Monitors, Outdoor Pool set up and closing, Lodge Library Organizers, Breeze Couriers, Lodge Receptionists, and Indoor Pool Cleaners help keep maintenance costs down. Volunteering with Neighbors Helping Neighbors or assisting with the annual property cleanup are other ways that residents can support our community.
Residents can make a meaningful contribution to the Avenbury Lakes Community by Volunteering for a leadership role, serving as a member of the Board of Directors or becoming a member of one of the five Standing Committees (Architecture, Buildings & Grounds, Community Fund, Landscape or Social Committee).
Volunteering is what makes Avenbury Lakes unique and quite different from other Homeowners Association. Volunteering at Avenbury Lakes allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. When you volunteer, you are making connections which can help you expand your social network as well as improve life here at Avenbury Lakes.
Every year (except for this year, due to the pandemic) we acknowledge those who seem to do a little more in making Avenbury Lakes a great place to live by awarding them the “Volunteer of The Year” or “Spirit Award”.
To find out more, feel free to contact any of the members of the Standing Committees, Clubs or Groups and they will help in answering any of your questions. Use this volunteer application to find out more about each standing committee and to sign up.
